Sales Representative

Position Overview:

The sales team takes an active role in expanding and growing the client base for Small Act, a social data intelligence company that works primarily with nonprofits. The sales representative is responsible for client acquisition through cold calling and other methods. Reporting directly to the Small Act CEO, this sales position offers unique opportunities to work with a company on the forefront of the social media world, and impact the success of multiple nonprofits at once.

Qualifications:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, adventuresome, experimental; excitement about working in a small, fast-paced, quickly growing company.
  • General knowledge of and expertise in sales.

  • Strategic thinker, tactical implementer, and some technical experience needed.

Location

We're looking for someone in the Washington, D.C. metro area who can come into the McLean, Virginia office at least once a week once they're up and running, but telecommuting for the bulk of the time is absolutely a possibility.

Compensation

Director of Client Experience

Small Act, a social data intelligence company that works primarily with nonprofits, is seeking a Director of Client Experience to strategically craft client interactions with our new social data product, SocialVision, as well as provide technical support. 

Duties

  • Using Intercom.io, create online, pop-up tutorials for our new social data product, SocialVision, developing as much self-help material as possible to keep clients happy and engaged with the product - and coming back for more.
  • Handle technical support inquiries (typically 5-10 hours a week) by email and phone
  • Cultivate an active user community with which to promote new features, take questions, etc. through conference calls/in person/online groups/etc.
  • Make proactive contact with clients to make sure they’re using and understanding the software well.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing to create content for weekly e-newsletters focusing on product features, “did you know”-type material, etc.
  • Keep the Director of Marketing informed of particularly stellar clients who would make ideal case study subjects.

Qualifications

  • Strong communicator, both verbally and written
  • Strong technical skills, learns new technologies and software quickly (familiarity with Intercom.io a plus)
  • “People person” who enjoys talking on the phone
