One of the highlights of my week was featuring Melanie Spring of Sisarina in a webinar about how to host great networking events. We've got the video and the Slideshare presentation below for those who were unable to attend.
Melanie is a talented and creative person who hosts amazing and fun networking events. As someone who used to shudder at the very mention of "networking," I was a bit unsure about attending my first Tweetup (a meetup for people who know each other on Twitter). Fortunately, it was hosted by Melanie, and I left feeling like a networking goddess! I knew she'd have some great advice for our community about how to host a truly awesome event, because I've seen her host so many of them.

When Small Act asked me to put together a webinar on connecting communities and setting up great events, I jumped at the chance. I’m not the type of person to keep things to myself. I’m always sharing information and trying to get others to use the knowledge I’ve acquired. Putting together networking events that are fun, friendly, and make you want to come back is my thing. Creating the perfect atmosphere by welcoming people, choosing comfortable venues and facilitating easy conversations is no simple thing, so I put together a presentation on how best to do it.
And that presentation was fantastic. We had record attendance and we've received great feedback.
